The San Diego VW Thing Club News Letter, Volume 2-5, 8-19-02:

Hello,

I hope everyone is doing well and that your Summer is a pleasant one.

I was gone for the month of July on vacation with my family. We bought a RV and have been traveling around Southern California. I plan on towing our Thing with the RV and would like to know if anyone has done that yet?

I've updated the clubs web page and added a lot of new pictures: http://www.cassidy-online.com/thingclub/picturesclub.html I haven't posted the pictures yet from the Thing Shop's show back in May (sorry). They are on their way. I have over 75 pictures. By far it was San Diego's biggest and best Thing show to date. Thanks Thing Shop http://www.thethingshop.com/ Be sure to check out their new web page.

If anyone would like to send me any other pictures I would be happy to post them.

We are looking for suggestions for our next outing. We are planning the clubs 3 year anniversary. Please. please, please send us your ideas.

The next outing is this weekend. Familienfest. Last year was a lot of fun. Bring you Thing, family, and the sun screen. Hope to see you there.

Scheduled Outing:
The 8th annual Familienfest is on August 24th, 2002,
at the Deer Park Winery, (where the Thing Show was).
The gates open at 9 am, and it costs $7 to enter, $10
to show with entry for 1 car and 1 person. This is a nice
show for ALL aircoolers.
There will be a swap meet and Kiddy Karnival, food and
a raffle.

Entrance for vendors and show cars starts at 6 am.
