The gap between the front roof rack brackets and the
roof rack seems to causes
a good amount of wind noise at freeway speeds. As an experiment
I used some heavy PVC
plastic tape to bridge the gaps. With the tape in place and at
75 MPH on the freeway I
eliminated a lot of wind noise. Yes, the tape is only a temporary
solution until I
come up with something more permanent. Between replacing the large
knobs and
taping over the front gaps I have been able to reduce the wind
noise to a level I like.
